(S-1)S-1, a leading security management and safety solutions provider in South Korea, is introducing an advanced AI-powered surveillance system to detect unauthorized intrusions and prevent violent incidents on school grounds.
The system, which integrates facial recognition, real-time monitoring, and fire prevention technology, aims to create a safer environment for students and staff.
S-1‘s Smart Video Management System (SVMS) uses artificial intelligence to analyze movements in and around school premises. Its AI-powered closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras can identify suspicious behaviors such as trespassing, loitering, or entry into restricted areas.
If an unauthorized individual attempts to enter the school by scaling a fence or sneaking in through the back, the system instantly detects the breach and sends an alert to school officials via a mobile app.
The need for enhanced security in schools has become increasingly evident.
According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 35 serious crimes, including assault and sexual offenses, have been reported in Korean schools over the past five years.
Facial recognition technology is another key feature of the system.
The Facial Recognition Reader 2.0 boasts an accuracy rate of 99.97 percent, thanks to deep learning algorithms and a dual-camera setup that combines visible light and infrared imaging to prevent spoofing.
The system’s fast recognition speed of 0.6 seconds ensures smooth entry, even during peak school hours when students arrive and leave in large numbers.
Beyond intrusion detection, S-1 has also developed Blue Scan, an IoT-based fire prevention solution.
Sensors installed throughout school buildings continuously monitor environmental changes, and if potential fire hazards are detected, the control center is alerted, allowing security personnel to immediately assess the situation using CCTV footage.
S-1’s latest security solutions highlight the growing role of AI in protecting schools.
By combining real-time surveillance, advanced facial recognition, and proactive fire prevention, these innovations aim to create a more secure and efficient school environment, helping to prevent potential threats before they escalate.
